Mr. Piyush Kumar, a Ph.D student at Center for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST), School of Physics, University of Hyderabad (UoH) 2018 -2024 batch, is selected for a Research Engineer position in the Department of Physics at the University of Notre Dame, USA, starting from June 2024.
During his Ph.D he has worked on “System Design and Prototyping of the CMS Level-1 Calorimeter Trigger at the High-Luminosity LHC” under the supervision of Dr. Bhawna Gomber, CASEST, School of Physics. His presence at CERN during the Ph.D work helped him to secure a research engineer position at Notre Dame, where he will be working on implementing the firmware and algorithm for the Phase-2 upgrade of the CMS barrel electromagnetic and hadronic calorimeter backend board, also known as BCP (barrel calorimeter processor).”
