Prof. KC James Raju, Dean, School of Physics has been awarded the prestigious Fellowship of The Institute of Physics (IOP). IOP incorporated in 1920, is a professional body and learned society for physics in the UK and Ireland, with an active role in promoting co-operation in physics around the world. IOP strives to make physics accessible to people from all backgrounds.

Prof. KC James Raju received the Visitor’s Award for Technology Development (contributions in frequency tunable microwave devices using ferroelectric thin films) for the year 2021.

Prof. Raju obtained his Ph.D from IIT, Madras, winning the “Best Thesis” Award in the process. As a part of his Ph.D, he developed Microwave Dielectric Resonators for DRDO. He joined the University in 1996, becoming the first faculty of the Electronics Program of the School of Physics. The Electronics Program was later developed into ‘The Centre for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST)’ in 2014 under the School of Physics. He also received the prestigious Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship, from the Indian Academy of Engineering from the year 2021-22.
