Dr. Murali Banavoth, Assistant Professor, School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been selected for the “The International Society for Energy, Environment and Sustainability” (ISEES) Young Scientist Award-2018. The award will be conferred upon HIM in the Second International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Environmental Challenges-2018 to be held at J N Tata Auditorium, IISc Bangalore from 31st December 2017 to 3rd January 2018. The award shall consist of a plaque and a certificate. In addition, Dr. Banavoth will get a Euro 100 voucher from Springer to purchase e-books from Springer portal. Earlier in July 2017, he was awarded the Young Scientist for 2nd BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) meeting held during July 11-15, 2017 at Hangzhou, China.

ISEES was founded at IIT Kanpur in January, 2014 with an aim to spread knowledge in the fields of Energy, Environment, Sustainability and Combustion. ISEES comprises of experts from leading international research institutions working in various domains related to energy.

Dr. Murali Banavoth joined as an Assistant Professor at School of Chemistry, UoH. Obtaining his Ph.D., from Indian Institute of Science, India, he moved to King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) at Solar Center as a postdoctoral associate and carried out pioneering work in the field of hybrid functional materials for solar harvesting.

Dr. Banavoth’s contribution to the photovoltaic (Solar Cells) research is evident from his outstanding 45 publications to name few in Nature, Advanced Materials, JACS, Angew. Chem., etc., and he is also currently the Editor of few prestigious journals like Frontiers in Optics and Photonics, Frontiers in Physics etc.

His research interests are broadly classified as organic, inorganic, and hybrid solar cells and photovoltaics.
