Professor Sujata Patel, former professor from the Department of Sociology, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been conferred with the prestigious Humboldt Research Award 2024. This international award is in recognition of her academic record and includes funding to carry out research projects of her own choice.

The Humboldt Research Award is conferred to internationally recognized researchers in recognition of their entire academic record to date. The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation sponsors distinguished international scientists and scholars irrespectively of their academic discipline or nationality and maintains an international network of academic cooperation and trust. The research awards have been a central pillar of the Foundation’s sponsorship activities since 1972.
