Dr. Banani Basistha, Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, Department of Sanskrit Studies at University of Hyderabad recently participated in CRE Status National Workshop on “Psychological Therapies: Techniques and Skills” from 3rd to 5th August, 2023 organised by School of Behavioural Sciences, Apeejay Stya University, Gurgaon, Haryana.
From the workshop Basistha has learnt about various categories of therapies from the field of psychology such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Draw-A-Person Therapy, Play Therapy, Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Group Therapy, Family Therapy, therapeutic intervention for substance abuse and addiction cases, Trauma Focused Therapy etc. Additionally, she was also exposed to life-skills training, along with other case discussions.
Dr. Basistha says, “Participation in the workshop has honed my existing skill-set and will enable me to apply the newly acquired knowledge to the various works I am currently involved as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Sanskrit Studies.”
