Dr. Thomas Kishore, faculty in the Centre for Health Psychology at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been chosen for the Reeta Peshawaria – Menon Fellowship 2014 Award. This Fellowship has been instituted by the India Vision Foundation, New Delhi.

This award consists of Rupees One Lakh bursary. The objective of this bursary is to promote special interest in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Cognitive Behaviour Therapies, and Families/ Parents of persons with Autism, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. The purpose of this Bursary is to carry forward the work of Dr Reeta Peshawaria who had devoted her life time on these issues.

Dr. Thomas Kishore completed Bachelor of Mental Retardation (NIMH, Secunderabad, India), followed by MA in Psychology (Annamalai University, Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu), M. Phil. in Medical & Social Psychology and Ph. D. Clinical Psychology (Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi, India). He is a Gold Medalist in Graduation and University topper in M. Phil. Programmes. He worked for NIMH, India for nearly eight years before joining the UoH in 2011, where he is a Reader in Health Psychology. His research interests include child and adolescent mental health, developmental disorders, particularly intellectual disabilities and autism; Clinical Neuropsychology and Health Psychology applied to children. He has nearly thirty research papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals in the specified areas.
