Ms. Anu Gupta, student at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) was one of the chosen few to be invited to witness the Republic Day Parade at Delhi on 26 January 2015.
She has been selected among the only 100 School/College/University toppers across the country by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of Higher Education) to witness the parade from the Prime Ministers box.
Anu completed her MA in Sociology from UoH in 2014 and is a Gold Medalist. Currently she is a Project Assistant under Prof. Sujata Patel in the Department of Sociology.
Anu says, “It was an amazing experience to be in Delhi and that too as the guest of the Government of India. We were provided with amazing accommodation and food at Hotel Janpath. To be with the Prime Minister, the President of India and the American President Mr. Barack Obama with his wife Mrs. Michel Obama was a life-time experience.” To see the people, the parade, the air show, and the tableaus in person was the best, she adds.
Anu plans to pursue higher education and complete her PhD. Painting and karate interest her and she was the 1st Runner Up in the All Bengal Open Karate Tournament Junior Girls Kumite (2008).
