Ms. Sharmeishtha Singh

Her paper, titled *Exploring Tradition, Modernity, and Identity in Festive Sale Advertisements: A Multimodal Discourse Analysis*, was presented under the “Discourse Analysis” track, aligning with the conference theme *Bridging Worlds*. The study examined how Indian festive sale advertisements construct identity by negotiating tradition and modernity through multimodal resources.

The conference saw participation from scholars and researchers across the globe, and provided Ms. Singh with a valuable opportunity to engage with leading academics, share insights, and discuss current trends in discourse and communication studies. Her presentation also allowed her to highlight Indian cultural and linguistic practices on an international platform.

Ms. Singh expresses her gratitude to the University of Hyderabad for its academic support and to her mentors at CELS for their continued guidance throughout her research journey.

Participation in WICAL 2025 marks a significant milestone in her academic career and reflects the Centre’s commitment to promoting research that connects language, culture, and identity in global contexts.
