Mr. Shivakumar Chedurupalli, a Ph.D. scholar under the supervision of Senior Prof. and Dean James Raju K.C. at the Center for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST), School of Physics, University of Hyderabad, (UoH) presented a poster titled & quot; Ba 0.5 Sr 0.5 TiO 3 Thin Film-Based Switchable High Overtone Bulk Acoustic Resonator on High Resistive Silicon & quot; at the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Joint Symposium (IEEE UFFC-JS 2024) held from September 22–26, 2024, at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei, Taiwan.
This work highlighted the significance of piezoelectric film bulk acoustic resonators (FBARs) in RF front-ends for mobile phones, emphasizing their compact design, excellent performance, and high-quality factors. Additionally, Mr. Shivakumar is developing magnetless circulators that use bulk acoustic resonators, advancing efforts to create efficient, compact components for modern RF systems. The research also underscored the potential impact of switchable/tunable filters on the rising demand for technologies in the Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G/6G communications. The presented work will be published in IEEE UFFC proceedings. He was selected to receive international travel support (ITS) from the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) to attend the UFFC-JS 2024.
