Shivakumar Chedurupalli, a Ph.D. scholar under the supervision of Senior Professor James Raju K.C. at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST), School of Physics, University of Hyderabad (UoH), presented a paper titled “Magnet-Free Circulator Using BAW Filters Based on Spatiotemporal Modulation for Full-Duplex Applications” at the IEEE MAPCON 2024 international conference at the event held from December 9 to 13, 2024, at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), Novotel, Hyderabad, India.

The research emphasizes the potential of magnet-free circulators using bulk acoustic wave (BAW) filters in modern communication systems. These circulators boast a compact design, high-quality factors, and exceptional performance, making them well-suited for 5G & 6G applications. The paper will be published in the IEEE MAPCON 2024 proceedings. In addition to his presentation, he was a finalist in the student design contest organized by MAPCON 2024.  He designed a tunable bandpass filter operating at 4 GHz for reconfigurable applications.
