Two abstracts of Mr. Shivakumar Chedurupalli, Ph.D. Scholar working under the supervision of Prof. K.C. James Raju at the Center for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology, School of Physics, University of Hyderabad have been accepted for presentation at the prestigious International Symposium on Applications of Ferroelectrics (ISAF) 2022 Conference, to be held in Tours, France from June 27 to July 1, 2022.
Mr. Shivakumar is one of the very few Indian PhD students to be selected to receive a Student Travel Grant of upto $2000. This grant will also enable Mr. Shivakumar to attend the Ferro School 2022 as organized by IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control Society (UFFC-S). The papers titled, “Porous Silicon Based Bulk Acoustic Resonator Using Barium Strontium Titanate Thin Film” and “High Overtone Bulk Acoustic Resonator with Improved Effective Coupling Coefficient“ which propose compact, better performance, and high Quality factor filters. These devices are indispensable for RF front-ends in mobile phones based on piezoelectric film bulk acoustic resonators (FBARs). They are also expected to have an impact on the increased demand for new technologies that can be employed to design switchable/tunable filters for the emerging areas of Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G/6G communications.
