Dr. Shalina Susan Mathew, an alumna of the School of Economics, University of Hyderabad has been awarded the 2015-16 Sir Ratan Tata Post-doctoral Fellowship, based at the Asia Research Centre (ARC) of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Dr. Mathew holds MA (Economics), MPhil (Economics) and PhD degrees from the University of Hyderabad. Her PhD, carried out at the Centre for Regional studies, was under the guidance of Prof. Vathsala Narasimhan, School of Economics. She completed her MPhil thesis at the School of Economics under the guidance of Dr. Phanindra Goyari.

Dr. Mathew’s research interests include labour, migration, social welfare, work-life balance and time use studies. She has published her research work in national and international journals, and has also presented papers in national and international conferences. Prior to joining the LSE, she held research positions at the Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore Centre, and Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Currently, Dr. Mathew is at LSE, London, UK.
