Students of Lakdaram village should pursue higher education and serve the nation, said the NSS Coordinator Dr. B. Krishnaiah. While addressing a gathering of the students of Zilla Parishad High School, he provided with opportunities of higher education in University of Hyderabad (UoH) and career opportunities.

He said that many students from various states across the country are pursuing in different courses in university. Many such students are now working in prestigious institutions across the globe as experts, scientists, IAS and IPS, officers dedicating their services to the nation. He encouraged the students also to aim for higher education and earn a seat in the university. He also warned the students about dangers of falling into distractions due to abuse of mobile phones or drugs, which are leading many students astray.

Dr. Bhim Singh, NSS Program Officer, spoke about the environmental problems caused by dust from granite mines near the village, highlighting concerns that waste is causing environmental damage. He urged the villagers to take precautions against these hazards and encouraged the students to dedicate themselves to village service by pursuing higher education.

Uday Kumar Reddy, Chairman of Rajamata Foundation, shared his experience of his participation in NSS activities during his college days and how it inspired him to establish the Rajamatha foundation. Over the past ten years, the foundation has been helping orphans, disabled individuals, and underprivileged students by collecting donations from donors, enabling many students to pursue higher education.

He also announced that students who achieve a 10/10 CGPA in their SSC exams would receive a reward of Rs.5000/- and in the future, he would provide financial assistance to students in need of support for higher education.

Mr. Harikrishna, chair of the Janam Kosam Manam foundation explained the students about the harmful effects of junk food. He encouraged them to avoid unhealthy snacks and focus on consuming nutritious food to protect their health. He had the students take an oath to follow this advice. Mr. Abhilesh, IMA student and the NSS volunteer shared his experiences about how to understand difficult subjects at school level.

Jaya Krishna, headmistress of the school and other teachers participated in the programme. In the post lunch session, the NSS volunteers formed groups and interacted with students from 6th to 10th grades. The students had the opportunity to ask questions and get clarified their doubts by the NSS volunteers. The volunteers provided guidance on essential aspects of education, maintaining health, and respecting parents and teachers.
