Students and youth should stay away from drugs and, similarly, avoid excessive use of social media, focusing instead on their studies to achieve higher positions and serve the nation, said Patancheru Circle Inspector, Mr. Vinayak Reddy. He was the chief guest at the valedictory function of the NSS, UoH at Lakdaram Village on 21-12-2024.

During his speech, he congratulated the NSS volunteers of the university for dedicating their valuable time to the village over the past week and participating in service activities. He encouraged them to continue such initiatives. He also emphasized that educated youth in villages should actively engage in such service programs to contribute to the development of society.

Medisetty Srinivas, the guest of honour stated that when students participate in such service activities from a young age, they could bring about the necessary changes and development in society.

He also expressed gratitude to the NSS volunteers of UoH for choosing their village to conduct these programs. Similarly, Mr. Gopal Reddy, Chairman of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, thanked the NSS volunteers for their support in conducting several activities in the village over the past week.

The NSS Coordinator, Dr. B. Krishnaiah expressed his gratitude to Mr. Srinivas for providing support boarding and lodging and taking care of arrangements for their activities in the village. Mr. Harikrishna and Mrs. Shashikala “Janam Kosam Manam” foundation appreciated the NSS camp for enabling them to organize a medical camp in collaboration with Amedha hospital. Mr. Vishwanath, Swasthik Rural and Youth Integrated Association thanked the NSS UoH for providing an opportunity to distribute their protein diet to the needy. They appreciated the volunteers for conducting competitions and encouraging the school students to pursue quality education in the future.

Mr. Uday Kumar, an organizer of the Rajamatha Foundation, recalled that his involvement in NSS during his college days inspired him to establish the foundation he runs today. The NSS Program Officer Dr. Bheem Shankar explained that the primary objective of the NSS is to spread the spirit of service and instill a sense of volunteering among students. The NSS team felicitated and congratulated the Lakdaram students and their coaches who participated in kickboxing competitions and won gold and silver medals for bringing recognition to the village recently.
