Tarun Kumar, PhD research scholar of the School of Physics, University of Hyderabad, recently presented a paper titled “Analyzing semileptonic b to u transitions with vector and scalar leptoquarks”, at the 42nd International Conference on High Energy Physics (ICHEP 2024), held in Prague, Czech Republic from 18th to 24th July, 2024. Tarun is working under the supervision of Dr. Barilang Mawlong, School of Physics. ICHEP is a series of international conferences organized by the C11 commission of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP). It has been held every two years for more than 50 years, and is the reference conference of particle physics where most relevant results are presented.

The paper presented by Tarun explores the flavor b to u sector within the framework of the U1 and S1 leptoquark models – models beyond the standard model of particle physics. The proceedings will be published in PoS – Proceedings of Science.

UoH-Institution of Eminence (IoE) supported his participation in the conference.
