Prof. Chetan Srivastava, Chairman, Placement Guidance and Advisory Bureau (PGAB), University of Hyderabad, coordinated the visit of Tech Japan Inc, Tokyo Japan, and their Customer Company Nakakita Seisakusho Co., Ltd., Osaka, Japan for exploring the placement opportunities at University of Hyderabad (UoH) on December 12, 2024. Tech Japan Inc. is an Information Technology & Services company that offers a platform for connecting high-skilled IT and digital talent from Indian universities with Japanese companies
Nakakita Seisakusho Co. Ltd., which is about 100 years old corporate (established on May, 28, 1930) at Osaka, Japan, with a Global presence today with over 750 sub-contractors. Nakakita is into Manufacturing and sales of automatic control valves, butterfly valves and remote-control systems, mostly for the Marine Industry.
University of Hyderabad has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tech Japan Inc, which is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan as placement partner, to explore placement and internship opportunities for the students at varied Japanese Corporates.
Prof. Chetan Srivastava, informed that their programme included a meeting with the placement team, luncheon interaction and meeting with Dr. Devesh Nigam, Registrar, UoH, followed by the interaction with students of varied schools and departments, who had an interest in exploring the career opportunities in Japan in general and the visiting Japanese corporation in particular. Dr. Nigam assured the delegation about the administrative support for the proposed activities by the Japanese corporates.
The members of the delegation included Mr. Masaki Ko, HR Section Manager, Mr. Akihiro Okumura, R&D Officer both from Nakakita Seisakusho Co. Ltd. and – Mr. Joe Okamoto, Sales Manager and Ms. Sonia Verma, Operations Manager from Tech Japan Inc. Their interaction began with a meeting with Prof. Chetan Srivastava, Chairman, PGAB and the Training and Placement Officer, Mrs. Prerana Akhouri in the chambers of the Chairman, Placement Guidance and Advisory Bureau (PGAB) at Vivekananda Amenities Centre, South Campus, University of Hyderabad.
Prof. Srivastava, welcomed the delegation and gave an overview of the University of Hyderabad, the Schools, the Courses and about the students of the University, he proposed to explore more and more opportunities for the students to pursue their internships with Japanese corporates and exploring final placement opportunities with them. He suggested that the Tech Japan, should look for a short duration immersion programme for the students and faculty of the University to have a firsthand experience of Japan, its work culture and the living environment, so that the students can be attracted to have their career path with Japanese corporates and faculty explore some opportunities for the collaborative research.
The members of the Japanese delegation were quite impressed with the University and held a high regard for the quality of students and academic environment, which they promised to take further with a long-lasting relationship with University of Hyderabad. They inquired about the student profile, their interests, their way of life and their career goals. Post Luncheon Meeting, the Japanese Delegates interacted with the students, at the Conference Hall in Vivekananda Amenities Hall, where Mr. Joe Okamoto from Tech Japan, apprised the students about the Japan, the career opportunities in Japan and then introduced the delegates from Nakakita Co. Ltd, and his Team Member, Ms. Sonia Verma, Operations Manager.
Mr. Masaki Ko, HR Section Manager, Nakakita gave a brief about the company, its operations and career opportunities with them, supported by Mr. Akihiro Okumura, R&D Officer, who responded to the technical queries by the students. The students showed a keen interest to explore their career opportunities in Japan and interacted with the members from Tech Japan and Nakakita Co, regarding varied options available, the work-life balance, the job environments, etc. Prof. Chetan Srivastava, thanked the delegates for their interest in the students of the University of Hyderabad, and assured them that the University would look forward to exploring varied career opportunities for its students in Japan.
Their visit ended with the campus tour of the facilities in the university.
