The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been ranked among the best Universities in the Country. The WEEK-HANSA research survey for the year 2023 has ranked UoH at Fourth position in the country among the top 85 Multidisciplinary Universities that include State, Central, Private and Deemed to be Universities. In the 2022 Rankings, the UoH was ranked Fifth in the country.

UoH is ranked at the First position among the top multidisciplinary Universities in the South.

“We are happy to be ranked among the Best Universities at number four in the country and number one in south India. Even more gratifying is to see the university moving up in the overall rankings compared to last year. We need to put collective efforts and perform better to be the best in the country and improve our position at the global level, said Prof. B J Rao, Vice-Chancellor. The university has been making steady progress and this has been possible only due to the efforts of our faculty, students, alumni and administrative staff”, he added.

A primary survey was conducted with 302 academic experts, spread across selected cities. The respondents were asked to nominate and rank the top 20 universities in India. Perceptual score was calculated based on the number of nominations and the actual ranks received. Factual score was calculated based on information collected from universities and other secondary sources on the following parameters:

◆ Age and accreditation

◆ Infrastructure and other facilities
◆ Faculty, research and academics
◆ Student intake and exposure
◆ Placements (only for technical universities)
◆ Final score = Perceptual score (out of 400) + factual score (out of 600)

The overall result of the survey has been published in the WEEK magazine issue dated May 12, 2023.
