Ms. Ujjwal Yadav, PhD research scholar at the History Department, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) working under the supervision of Prof. Suchandra Ghosh has been awarded the prestigious VMMF-IAWS Young Research Scholars’ Award, 2023.

She has been given this award for her research paper titled “The Temptress and Beyond: Women and Households in the Jātakas,” published in the Women and Society, New Series Volume 2, 2020 (ISSN 2278 6279), Journal of the Advanced Centre for Women’s Studies, Aligarh Muslim University. The academic award is accompanied by a certificate along with the VMMF (Vina Mazumdar Memorial Fund) and Indian Association for Women’s Studies Scholarship presented for the best-published work in the areas related to Women’s and Gender Studies in Asia. It is overseen by a duly constituted jury comprising members from the Centre for Women Development Studies (CWDS) in collaboration with the Indian Association for Women’s Studies (IAWS).
