The University of Hyderabad’s UNESCO Chair in Vulnerability Studies has been invited to collaborate with UNESCO’s Memory of the World (MoW) programme on a joint project titled “Memory of the World and the SDGs”. This prestigious collaboration involves three key partners: the UNESCO Secretariat’s Documentary Heritage/MoW Unit, the MoW Sub-Committee on Education and Research, and the UNESCO Chair in Vulnerability Studies.

The MoW programme, now in its 30th year, is a flagship initiative of UNESCO’s HQ, aiming to preserve and promote the world’s documentary heritage. This collaboration significantly enhances the University of Hyderabad’s international presence and contributions to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Professor BJ Rao, Vice Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad, congratulated the Chair team, comprising Pramod Nayar, Anna Kurian, and Zahidul Haque, on this remarkable achievement. He noted that this collaboration adds a substantial dimension to the university’s internationalization and SDGs initiatives, wishing the Chair continued success.

According to Pramod K Nayar, the collaboration emerged from a talk delivered by the Chair at a recently concluded Faculty Development Programme (FDP) co-organized with NIT Trichy, which was attended by the MoW director.

This partnership underscores the University of Hyderabad’s commitment to addressing global vulnerabilities and promoting sustainable development through collaborative research and education.
