Professor Appa Rao Podile, Vice-Chancellor, UoH, released the first copy of the material on 05 August, 2018 compiled on grammar to be taught in the Spoken English and Grammar classes being organized for the benefit of SC, ST, OBC (Non Creamy Layer) and Minority Students under UGC Remedial Coaching Programme. The copy of the material was also given to Prof. Prakash Babu, Chairperson of the UGC Remedial Coaching Programme.
The material has been prepared as per the syllabus designed by the senior professors invited from EFL University and JNT University under the coordination of Dr.J.Bheemaiah. Mr. Sayantan Mondal, a scholar-teacher from the Centre for Comparative Literature,compiled the material which comprises 32 chapters with focus on parts of speech and basic principles on grammar accompanied by several exercises meant for practice.
The Vice-Chancellor has released the poster on Remedial Spoken English and Grammar programme. The poster contains crucial information about the enrollment of the students for the Remedial Coaching: Spoken English and Grammar for August-November, 2018. It bears a slogan with description on the significance of the UGC programme in general and spoken English in particular. It also contains information on submission of filled-in enrollment forms,date of the test and commencement of classes. The spoken English classes commenced on 6th August.
A test was conducted on 4th August,2016 at Sri Radha Krishna Building. Of 93 enrolled students, 71 students appeared for the test. In the beginning of every semester,a simple English test is conducted on general English to assess the level of English knowledge of students aspiring for this coaching programme. The students are admitted into Basic English or Advanced English based on their performance in the test which will also help the students to test their knowledge of English .
