The University of Hyderabad’s innovation and incubation arm, ASPIRE (Association for Scientific Pursuits for Innovative Research Enterprises), is pleased to announce the winners of the third cycle of its prestigious Pre-Incubation Programme. This initiative, exclusively offered to students, alumni, and the academic fraternity of the University, aims to nurture early-stage innovations that address real-world challenges and deliver societal impact.
Selected Innovations:
1. VisionV Eye Care App: Proposed by Mr. T. Vinay from the Department of Optometry, this mobile-based diagnostic platform leverages artificial intelligence to enable affordable, non-invasive screening for early detection of eye disorders.
2. For Her Wellbeing: Proposed by Dr. Ragadeepti, an alumna of the University of Hyderabad, this initiative addresses women’s reproductive and vaginal health through a holistic, synbiotics-based approach integrating microbiome research and wellness science.
3. Sustainable Production of Rare and Exotic Nutraceuticals: Proposed by Dr. Rajsheel, this project aims to develop a plant cell culture-based platform for the sustainable biomanufacturing of high-value nutraceuticals.
The selected innovators will receive structured support for a period of six months at ASPIRE’s incubation centres, including:
– Dedicated lab space
– Access to advanced instrumentation
– Procurement of essential consumables
– Expert mentorship to support early-stage development and validation
To mark the beginning of their pre-incubation journey, the selected innovators were formally issued award letters by Prof. B. J. Rao, Vice Chancellor, University of Hyderabad, in the presence of ASPIRE Directors and stakeholders. During the event, Prof. Rao, who also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ASPIRE, interacted with the winners, appreciated their innovative ideas, and extended his best wishes.
Prof. B. J. Rao, Vice Chancellor, University of Hyderabad said, “ASPIRE and the University of Hyderabad are deeply committed to encouraging students and early-stage entrepreneurs by providing the best possible support and resources. Our goal is to help convert the University’s vast knowledge base into tangible products that benefit society. ASPIRE is one of the largest and most thriving incubation ecosystems in India—arguably the best among university-based innovation ecosystems.”
Based on their progress, the selected teams will be guided toward securing competitive grants and may transition to full incubation under ASPIRE’s specialised centres—ASPIRE-BioNEST, ASPIRE-TBI, or ASPIRE-TIDE.
