Dr. Sandeep Kumar Marka
Dr. Sandeep Kumar Marka is an alumnus of University of Hyderabad who graduated with M.Tech. (in 2013) and Ph.D. (in 2017), both with excellence in Nanoscience and Technology from the School of Engineering Sciences and Technology. He was actively involved in research related to various graphene, graphene-polymer composites and graphene-metal oxide nanocomposites. He used graphene and graphene-metal oxide nanocomposites as anode materials in Li-ion batteries and graphene-polymer composites for EMI shielding applications at both room and elevated temperatures. He worked with Prof. Dr. VVSS Srikanth for his M.Tech. and Ph.D. theses. While pursuing his M.Tech., he was selected for the prestigious Summer Internship Program for Indian Students (SIPIS)-2013 at the National University of Singapore (NUS). During the SIPIS internship, he worked with Dr. M. V. Reddy, Dr. S. Adam, and Prof. BVR Chowdari at Advanced Batteries Laboratory, NUS. For his M.Tech. work, he won the Best Poster Award at IUMRS-ICA 2013, organized by the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
Dr. Sandeep secured DST-SERB Travel Grant and presented a part of his Ph.D. work at the Trends in Nanotechnology (TNT) international conference-2016 held in Switzerland. He published 10 papers and gave 5 presentations at various national and international conferences during his Ph.D. Dr. Sandeep was a recipient of CSIR-SRF (Direct). After his Ph.D., he worked as Special Research Assistant (Post-doctoral) with Prof. Wencai Ren (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=FUPSPK0AAAAJ&hl=en) at the Advanced Carbon Division, Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science, Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Science, Shenyang. After that, he worked as Assistant Professor at the KL University, Hyderabad, for a brief period.
