The Week-Hansa Research Best Universities Survey 2014 has ranked University of Hyderabad (UoH) fourth among the top 50 Universities in the country. The results of the survey have been published in The Week magazine issue dated June 1, 2014 also ranks the University number one among all Universities in the South Zone.
The research findings are based on a survey carried out among 228 academic experts from 21 cities. They were administered a questionnaire asking them to nominate and rank the top 15 Universities in India. They were not allowed to nominate their own University. Factual data was also collected from the Universities and secondary sources. Factual score is based on parameters like age of the university, infrastructure, faculty and research citations. The Universities that were eligible for the rankings are the ones that are recognized by UGC and offering full-time postgraduate degree courses. They must also have completed at least three batches of students for postgraduate programmes.
The 2014 survey ranks University of Delhi at first position followed by Banaras Hindu University and Jawaharlal Nehru University.
