The University of Hyderabad (UoH) and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bibinagar (AIIMS Bibinagar) have recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in research, training, and capacity building in areas of mutual interest. AIIMS Bibinagar shall extend its facilities as a referral cum empaneled hospital to the staff and students of UoH.

7. Conferences/Seminars/Symposia/Workshops
The MoU aims to foster interdisciplinary research, translational research, and basic research, with a focus on building a cadre of clinician-scientists. The collaboration will also facilitate the development of affordable products for healthcare and diagnostics; Enhanced research opportunities for faculty and students; Capacity building in community and family medicine, public health, and hospital management; Access to advanced curriculum and best practices in healthcare.
AIIMS – Bibinagar
AIIMS Bibinagar shall extend its facilities as a referral hospital cum empaneled hospital to the UoH for staff and students for their secondary and tertiary health care needs.
For UoH Employees and Dependents: The health care facility shall be extended on referral by the CMO, UoH Health Centre as per CGHS rates for the regular employees. Any such services extended by AIIMS Bibinagar on credit basis at CGHS rates shall be paid by UoH within the stipulated time period as per the actual bills raised in this regard. The CMO, UoH shall also refer such employees not covered under UoH Health Scheme and those with Ayushman card on case-to-case basis and shall be treated in accordance with PMJAY and Arogyashree scheme of the Telangana Government regulations as applicable.
For UoH Students: Students’ group insurance for health care coverage would also be entitled under this arrangement and the Office of Dean (Student Welfare), UoH shall facilitate payment of treatment expenses incurred to AIIMS Bibinagar through the 3rd party Insurance agency.
From the UoH, Dr. Ajitha Katta Associate Professor, School of Medical Sciences will serve as Coordinator and Prof. B. R. Shamanna, Professor, School of Medical Sciences will serve as Co-Coordinator.
From AIIMS, Bibinagar, Dr. Aparna Varma Bhongir, Addl. Prof, Dept. of Bio-Chemistry & Registrar will serve as Coordinator, Dr. Govindrao N.K, Addl. Prof. Community and Family Medicine & Assoc. Dean (Research) and Dr. Parag Patil, Assoc. Prof. Dept of Pathology & Deputy Medical Superintendent will serve as Co-Coordinators.
The MoU is valid for a period of five years and can be extended further by mutual consultation and agreement.
