The entire campus community including students, research scholars, staff and faculty ushered in 2013 with a campus walk in the company of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ramakrishna Ramaswamy on January 01.
The walk, which commenced at 2:30 pm started from the Main Gate, through School of Chemistry, Balayogi Stadium wall, Mushroom Rock, Peacock Lake and terminated at the VC’s Lodge. Many of the participants were enamoured by the beauty of the natural heritage in the campus. Most of them were seen climbing the mushroom rock for the first time and enjoying the breath-taking view all around.
Last year the New Year walk covered the entire boundary of the University. More than 300 officials, faculty and students participated in the walk this year which was organised by the NSS cell. A campus cleaning programme was also organised by the NSS volunteers on this occasion.
