Sooriyaprakash Dharmaraj, Research Scholar, Center for Study in Social Exclusion and Inclusion Policy at the University of Hyderabad has been selected for the Bergen Summer Research School (BSRS) 2014. Sooriya will participate in the course: Standing Global Governance from above and below: Multi-lateral Organization, Collective Action and Politics of Development in the Global South, as part of the summer school at the University of Bergen, Norway from 23rd June to 4th July 2014.
The Bergen Summer Research School (BSRS) on Global Development Challenges is an educational initiative offering annual doctoral courses on global challenge-related themes to PhD students from all over the world. It is organized by the University of Bergen (UiB), in collaboration with the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH), the Christian Michelesen Institute (CMI), Bergen University College (HiB) and UniResearch. The BSRS 2014 is dedicated to the theme “Governance to meet Global Challenges”. 73 Students from 29 different countries have been accepted to this year’s School.
Sooriya is pursuing his PhD under Dr. Rani Ratnaprabha, and Prof. G. Krishna Reddy, Political Science Department, in Osmania University is his Co-supervisor. His entire trip including the air travel, accommodation, local transport etc will be borne by the BSRS.
