Prof. B J Rao, Vice Chancellor, University of Hyderabad, reacts to the rankings with a mix of pride and determination:

“We are delighted to have achieved a notable ranking of 335 in the world in the ‘Citations per Faculty’ indicator in the QS World University Rankings 2026. This recognition reflects the dedication and hard work of our faculty and researchers.”

“However, we acknowledge that there is room for improvement in other parameters, such as global visibility and perception. We are committed to enhancing our overall ranking by focusing on these areas and continuing to strive for excellence in research and education.”

“This achievement motivates us to work even harder and make a greater impact in the global academic landscape.”

Let’s continue to push boundaries and achieve greatness together!

QS gathers two distinct datasets: paper count over a five-year period and citations count for six years for papers published over a five-year period. To reflect the growth in data availability and changing priorities of students and society at large over the past two decades, QS has implemented the largest methodological enhancement since its inception, with metrics: Sustainability, Employment Outcomes, International Research Network, Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, and Faculty Student Ratio.
