The department of Theatre Arts in the Sarojini Naidu School of Arts & Communication is organizing a month long Summer Camp for the children on the campus from 5 May to 5 June 2015. We need to create awareness and interest in theatre arts says the Dean of S N School Prof. Ananthakrishnan. Our country needs more number of child artists and hence these kinds of camps can help in not only developing a liking but also identify potential talent, adds Ananthakrishnan.
One of the theatre art research scholars and coordinator of this workshop Chandra Sekhar says that specific training will be giving in 12 events to the children all above the age group of 5 years. There are a total of 60 students attending this one-month camp.
These children will be given training in Acting, Music, Origami, Painting, Dance/Classical/Western, Story Narration, Play Production, Clay Moulding, Mask Making etc. The resource persons include Basheer, Rahmathula and Murali Basa.
