Prof. Venkata Ramana, Professor in the School of management Studies at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been invited as a special Invitee on the CII Telangana State Council that has been reconstituted for the year 2016 – 17.
Prof. Venkata Ramana will be associated with the council which is working on the theme of “Reimagining and Building Telangana: Competitiveness, Inclusiveness, Governance and Speed”. The focus areas will be – Manufacturing, Economic Affairs, MSME, Life Sciences, HR, Higher Education, Skill Development, CSR, Energy & Power, EHS, Infrastructure, Real Estate, ICT, Agriculture, Logistics, Defence & Aerospace, and District Development. The activities of the Council will be spearheaded by various experts, grouped together under different teams, representing various sectors and verticals.
Shri N Nrupendar Rao, Founder and Chairman of Pennar Industries Limited is the Chairman of the Council whereas Mr. V Rajanna, Vice-President & Regional Head, TCS Ltd., is the Vice-Chairman.
Prof. Venkata Ramana born in Hyderabad holds a Master’s Degree and a Doctorate in Business Management and has over two and half decades of professional experience spanning academics, research, industry and business consulting in the areas of General Management, Corporate Strategy, Banking, Infrastructure and Services Sector Management. He has also been awarded Best Professor in Marketing Management by CMO Asia in 2012 in Singapore and has recently been appointed as the Member of the First Academic Court of the Central University of Rajasthan by the President of India.
He has vast experience as an Academic administrator and has earlier served as Dean for almost seven and half years and also has been recipient of many awards for his contribution to the field of Higher Education in General and Management Education in particular. He has been a speaker at many National and International Seminars and Conferences. He is on the Board of several Universities and advisor to several academic institutions in India and abroad. He was also on the Board of State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) for four years before being appointed on the Board of IIFCL, New Delhi in 2012 by the Government of India.
