The Department of Education and Education Technology (DoEET), University of Hyderabad, organised a virtual talk on the occasion of International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2021, coordinated by Dr. Ravula Krishnaiah, Assistant Professor, DoEET, School of Social Sciences. This virtual talk had eminent yoga expert and renowned yoga guru, Dr. Hansaji Jayadeva Yogendra, Director, Yoga Institute, Mumbai, who delivered a talk on Yoga: An Integral Development of Human Being, where the speaker expressed the need of yoga as part of our daily life and how yoga education must reach everyone.

         

Session 2 was by Dr. Abhijata Iyengar, Director, Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute, Pune, who delivered a talk on how to “Equip Yourself for the Covid-19 Era”. In this demonstrative session, the speaker emphasized a few yoga asanas that will help to regulate breathing and maintaining fitness, without just thinking of gym. It was followed by an interactive yoga session by ISHA yoga instructor, which had live illustrations and videos on a few basics on Hata yoga. This programme had around 511+ participants who gave their valuable positive responses. In this event organized by DoEET, School of Social Sciences, many senior professors and other faculty members participated. Dr. J.V. Madhusudan, Head,  DoEET, has appreciated the idea of organising such a talk describing it as the need of the hour.
