The School of Economics, University of Hyderabad (UoH) organized a special lecture by Mr. Bong-Kyu CHOI, Minister Counsellor (Economic), Embassy of the Republic of Korea (ROK) in India on September 13, 2017 at Sir C. V. Raman Auditorium, UoH.

Mr. Choi spoke on “Korea’s Economic Development”. Mr. Choi discussed about various sectors of the economy including causes of 1997-98 Financial Crises, Economy Reforms and the decline in potential Growth rate.

The seminar was chaired by Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Pro Vice-Chancellor-2, UoH, Prof. Phanindra Goyari faculty in the School of Economics Coordinated the lecture. Prof. Naresh Kumar Sharma, Dean, School of Economics said gave a brief note about the School and the activities at the School. The seminar ended with the formal vote of thanks by Dr. Raja Sethu Durai, Associate Professor of School of Economics.

About the speaker:

Mr. Bong-Kyu Choi is currently the Minister Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Korea (RoK) in India, New Delhi. Mr. Choi is from the Korean Foreign Service batch of 1994. He was the first Secretary in the Embassy of RoK in Japan in 2002 and the first Secretary in the Embassy of RoK in Kenya in 2005. He was also the Director of the Northeast Asia Division in 2012. He has been serving in various positions in the Embassy of RoK in various countries.
