The Undergraduate Board of the Studies in English of Mangalore University has selected the new English translation by Prof. Shivarama Padikkal from Centre for Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies (CALTS), University of Hyderabad and Vanamala Viswanatha formerly professor at Ajim Premji University of the first Kannada Novel INDIRA BAI :THE TRIUMPH OF TRUTH AND VIRTUE (Basel Mission, 1899; Translation OUP, 2019) by Gulvadi Venkata Rao, as the prescribed text for the B.Com Classes of all colleges affiliated to the Mangalore University. It has 204 affiliated colleges.
