Ms. Aparajita Mishra, an alumnus of the Department of Anthropology, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad has been appointed as OPSC-Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology, Odisha State.

She submitted her Ph.D thesis in the month of December 2022 under the supervision of Prof. R. Siva Prasad and Dr. Alok Kumar Pandey, completed her Post-Graduation and M.Phil in (Anthropology) from University of Hyderabad.

She has previously held in the position as Jr. Lecturer in Anthropology, Dept of Higher Education, Odisha from 2014-2017. She also worked with the leading NGO Public Health Foundation of India as a Sr. Research Scientist and State lead for the govt flagship programs on maternal and child health and various other public health domains. She has published in several international and UGC care listed journals from her research work on displacement, rehabilitation and resettlement, gender roles in sustainable livelihoods, maternal and child health focusing on quality of care. She has attended various national and international conferences and Workshops.

Aparajita has been awarded an ICSSR Doctoral fellowship, New Delhi. Her areas of research interest include Development Anthropology, Research Methodology, Medical Anthropology and Public Health, Socio-Cultural Anthropology. She aims to contribute her efforts to get an identity for Anthropology as a holistic discipline in the Indian context.
