The International Webinar on “Translation Studies Across Frontiers” jointly organized by the Centre for Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies (CALTS), University of Hyderabad and Faculty of Arts, Communication and Indic Studies (FACIS), Sri Sri University, Cuttack from 31 August 2020 to 16 October 2020 has become a major global event in Translation Studies in recent months with a large audience from all over the world participating in it.

Distinguished scholars Prof. Mona Baker, University of Manchester and Director, Baker Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies, Shanghai; Prof. Michael Cronin, Trinity College Dublin; Prof. Douglas Robinson, Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) and Hong Kong Baptist University; Prof. Sameh Hanna, United Bible Societies and Visiting Fellow, Leeds University; Prof. Kobus Marais, University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa; Prof.María Luisa Rodríguez Muñoz, Universidad de Córdoba, Spain; Prof. Harish Trivedi, former Professor, University of Delhi; Prof. Udaya Kumar, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi; Prof. Rita Kothari, Ashoka University, Sonipat, and  Prof. Kalyani Samantray, Sri Sri University, Cuttack have delivered lectures on various aspects and emerging areas of research in Translation Studies in this webinar.

The International Webinar has been well-received across the world. While an average of 800-1500 professors, researchers, students, authors, artists, and translation enthusiasts from all over the world attended the live sessions on Zoom and Facebook, the numbers surged to 1.3k to 2.8k views on Facebook within hours of each session.
