“Cracking Civil Services examination has been my childhood dream and the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has helped me in a big way to realize it. It has not only strengthened my academic abilities but also has provided me with ample opportunities to develop my over-all personality”, says Madhavi Sodisetty, Research Scholar in Economics at the UoH and a native of Palakol, West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. “I must mention that Integrated Masters programme in Social Sciences is unique and invaluable in presenting a holistic picture of the society” she adds.

Madhavi, a research scholar in the School of Economics since 2016 and working in the area of Agriculture Economics has also pursued the five-year Integrated Masters in Social Sciences with specialization in Economics from the School of Economics, UoH during 2009-14. She is an alumnus of APRJC Nimmakur and Rice Millers High School, Palakol.

Madhavi wants to join the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) but is a little skeptical as she has scored the 104th rank whereas there are only 97 positions for IAS. “In case I am not lucky this time will again try for it next year, says Madhavi while extending her hearty gratitude to her guides Prof. Limakumba Walling and Prof. Laxminarayana. She also thanks the Dean of the School of Economics, Prof. Kamaiah, and the faculty members of the School for extending their cooperation.

‘I am also thankful to my family and friends who have been major pillars of my strength throughout. I shall strive my best to make University of Hyderabad proud’, signs off Madhavi.
