Mr. Ganesh Puthur, an alumnus of MA History 2018-2020 batch, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has won the Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan National Award for Excellence in Art and Culture 2021. The award will be presented by Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan foundation for popularising Indian Art & Culture and for his exceptional achievements as a poet, writer and social activist. His anthology of poems in Malayalam titled ‘Achante Alamara’ has won numerous awards.

Mr. Ganesh will receive a cash award of Rs. One lakh, citation and memento at the annual National Excellence Award ceremony of Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan Foundation, which will be held on November 29, 2021 at NDMC main auditorium, New Delhi.

Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan Foundation is a unique endeavour to keep alive the memory of Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan, and to fulfil her dreams in a variety of areas where she was passionately involved at the time of her untimely death on October 7, 2017. Dr. Mangalam was a celebrated journalist, writer, academic and lover of arts, literature and culture. Her last work was a highly acclaimed curation of an exhibition on M. S. Subbulakshmi, renowned Carnatic – Singer, on her birth centenary.
