Dr. Shivali Sisodia an alumnus of the School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad MPH (2014-2016), has been instrumental in authoring the seminal and landmark report of the National Quality Assurance Program – “Quality Darpan”
The National Quality Assurance Program (NQAP) through the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) were launched in 2013 with an aim to improve the Quality of Care in Public Health Facilities of India. These standards for District Hospitals, Community Health Centres, Primary Health Centres and Urban Primary Health Centres have been developed over the years. The most recent update called “Quality Darpan” has been updated as part of the program with the recent developments and was released by Shri. Mansukh L Mandaviya, Hon. Minister for Health, Chemicals and Fertilisers Government of India last week.

The author, Dr. Shivali Sisodia, is a Healthcare Quality professional with 7+ years of experience in the field of Public Health and Quality Improvement. She is a trained ISO 9001:2015 Auditor, a certified Artificial Intelligence healthcare professional and a qualified External Assessor of the National Quality Assurance Program. Presently, she is serving as a core technical member of National Quality Team and as the Management Systems Leader of IS0 9001:2015 of NHSRC, a technical support unit of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India.
Her pivotal role is in
- Development of technical documents & guidelines,
- Strategic planning,
- Capacity building as a national trainer
- Technical resource person etc. for the implementation of National Quality Assurance Program in Indian States and Union Territories.
The National Health Systems Resource Centre has been one of the major placement institutions for the public health students of the school and has been patronising us for the last 7 years since the time the program started.
