Students of different departments of University of Hyderabad organized the “University Ethnic Day 2018” on 14th September 2018 in Savitribai Phule Auditorium. Ethnic Day 2018 was intended to celebrate the diverse cultures which the campus accommodates as students come from different parts of the country to pursue different courses.
Various cultural activities like dances, songs, ramp walk, poetry, etc. were performed. The event was intended to create awareness about drug addiction, fight against depression and promotion of handlooms. There were about 30 performances followed by the spectacular ramp walk show with around 24 students representing their State’s tradition and culture.
Ms. Hari Chandana, IAS, Commissioner, Central Zone, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Prof. R. S. Sarraju, Chief Security Incharge (i/C) along with organisers inaugurated the Ethnic Day 2018 by lighting the lamp.
State of Bank of India (SBI) and Telangana Today daily newspaper supported the event.
