Prof. Goverdhan Mehta, Eli-Lily Jubilant Professor and former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) inaugurated the first Networking Centre for Chemistry in the Country at the School of Chemistry Annexe on September 19, 2016 in the presence of Prof. P. Appa Rao, Vice-Chancellor, UoH. Prof. M. Durga Prasad, Dean, School of Chemistry, faculty members and students were also present on this occasion.
The Centre’s aim is to network with other institutions, especially undergraduate and postgraduate colleges and universities in the region, and thereby contribute to the improvement in chemical education and research. This is the first and only Networking Centre established in the Country for Chemistry.
The building is ground and first floor structured with a total floor area of 2552 sq ft. The ground floor consists of research labs and office and the first floor will be used for teaching. This Networking Centre constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.3 crores can be accessed by all research scholars and scientists for their research. The building has been planned in a friendly manner for the differently-abled persons.
