Professor Nadimpalli Siva Kumar, Senior Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Dean, School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) was one among the 10 Awardees of the Fulbright International Education Administrators Seminar Award for the Fellowship from India and was deputed from the University of Hyderabad to avail the same.

The Meeting was primarily hosted by the Notre Dame University in a tightly packed wonderful program for two weeks in the USA. The Awardees were at the Notre Dame University from 17th to 21st September, 2023 where they were explained on the various facets of higher education in US Universities and the recent Strategic Development Plan Notre Dame released concerning internationalization for the next 10 years. Several senior administrators gave seminar sessions in Notre Dame. The team also visited Indiana University at South Bend and interacted with faculty colleagues in different disciplines.

Awardees at the Gallaudet University, Washington

The second part of the sessions were primarily held at the Institute of International Education Office in Washington until 29th September, 2023. Several sessions related to the Undergraduate, Post-graduate and Doctoral studies at various Universities and credit transfer possibilities in the light of the NEP 2020. The role of the IIE has been elaborated by various speakers. Also, some sessions were held at the Keough School of Global Affairs University of Notre Dame in Washington.

The visit also allowed Prof. Nadimpalli Siva Kumar to meet with four of his former Ph.D. students (alumni of the UoH) who graduated from the Biochemistry Department went as postdocs in Harvard, Emory, Washington Universities and who are now Research Directors working for industry in the USA.  For the Professor it has been a memorable experience to have received this award from the Fulbright in 2023.
