Mr. Guntheti Naveen, Ph.D Research Scholar in the Department of Theatre Arts, S N School of Arts and Communication, University of Hyderabad (UoH) was selected for the Prestigious International Federation for Theatre research (IFTR) international conference being held at University of Sao Paulo, Brazil during July 10 – 14, 2017.

Mr. Naveen doing his research under the guidance of Prof. Noushad Mohamed Kunju faculty at Theatre Arts. He attended the conference on “Unstable geographies and multiple theatricalities” and presented a paper on “Specialty of presentation shifts conventional to contemporary: A critical approach based on a devised performance, ‘Reflections’. His paper has been awarded Prestigious IFTR bursaries 2017 which carries and amount of 1215 Euros. He is one of those few who got this award from India.

The International Federation for Theatre research has been created for the Theatre Research worldwide, Founded in 1957, the Federation currently boasts members from 44 countries from all over the globe. It holds annual international conferences, regional conferences, and research working group symposia which is a world’s leading theatre research organization. From all over the world leading theatre experts, Research Scholars, Professors, Intellectuals and theatre critics participated and present their papers in the conference. It’s a wonderful opportunity to share research ideas, thoughts and way of methodology within the Global context. It is an annual conference nearly 500 participants come from all over the globe.

He has been attending this conference since 2015. Last year also he presented his paper in IFTR 2016 at Stockholm University, in Sweden.

Biography:

Guntheti Naveen is a Research Scholar at Department of Theatre Arts, S. N. School of Arts and Communication, UoH. His topic of research is “Adopting Traditional Acting Technique into Contemporary Actor Practice”. He has successfully completed three years of his five year research programme. He has also been awarded by Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF) and Prestigious IFTR bursaries 2017. As an actor, he has worked under the direction of reputed and distinguished theatre exponents of India and abroad. He has participated in several national and international theatre festivals as an actor. He has presented papers in many national and international theatre conferences and seminars.
