Dr. Ranga Reddy Burri, Honorary Professor, School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) & President, Infection Control Academy of India (IFCAI) is selected for the 3rd edition of the Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Course – One health challenge from November  7 to 11, 2022 at Les Pensières Center for Global Health, Veyrier-du-Lac, France. This prestigious fellowship instituted by Mérieux Foundation awards ten fellowships yearly since 2019 and is awarded globally to those actively engaged in AMR containment.

The course advocates for the value of the One Health approach to fight against AMR, and builds capacity for critical decision-making in the developing world through education, partnerships and networks. Further, this recognition further places the partnership between the school and IFCAI on a stronger footing to design and implement better programs & policies to contain this silent pandemic of AMR which is killing 1,2 million people annually and is rapidly progressing.

The Dean, Prof. Geeta K. Vemuganti commending this award hoped for a more robust and coordinated work with committed stakeholders from all over the world to help tackle the problem of AMR and plan capacity building One Health courses from the school.
