A four-day “Indo-Italian training workshop on Electro Encephalogram (EEG) & Magneto Encephalography (MEG) data processing” organized by Centre for Neural & Cognitive Sciences (CNCS) was inaugurated by Prof. E. Haribabu, Pro Vice-Chancellor, University of Hyderabad (UoH) on 1st April 2013 on the campus.
Dr. H. B. Singh, Officer-in-charge, Cognitive Science Initiative at Department of Science and Technology (DST) in his address said that Cognitive Science research programme is one of the most successful programmes conducted by the DST. Dr. Singh said that the DST is ready to support more activities under this programme as the research gap in this domain compared to other countries is very large.
The four day training workshop is on EEG & MEG which are neuroimaging methods available for brain function in-vivo. This course is aimed at imparting hands-on training on processing these datasets. Dr. Jennifer Corbelt and Mr. Andreas Wintz from the Centre for Min/Brain Sciences, University of Trento, Italy are conducting this training programme. About 60 participants from various institutions such as CBCS, Allahabad, IIIT Allahabad, IIT’s, IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Basara and students for UoH are participating.
Dr. S. Udgata, Director CMSD was present at the inaugural session. Prof. E. Haribabu, presided while Prof. S Bapi Raju, Coordinator, CNCS welcomed the gathering. Dr. Joby Joseph, faculty CNCS proposed a vote of thanks.
