The Horticulture wing of University of Hyderabad (UoH) organized a Tree Plantation drive on 10-02-2023 in association with United Way of Hyderabad, an NGO.

The University has been religiously organizing the Tree Plantation programme in order to promote greenery on the campus. The trees planted include Indian sandalwood, Sithapal, Tabubia Rose, Camel Fruit, Chery, Bamboo, Almond, Jamun, Cashew Nut, Kadamba, Plumeria, Hippe, Insuline, Antvala, Mahagani and Hole Desavala.

The Miyawaki Plantation covered approx. 0.3 acres. About 100 volunteers took part in the plantation drive. The United Way of Hyderabad thanked Prof. BJ Rao, Vice-Chancellor and Dr. Devesh Nigam, Registrar for giving the opportunity.

The University is in the process of nurturing a Fruit bearing tree garden, Medicinal plants garden and is working towards improving the green cover on the campus.
