Three (3) MPH students completing their first year of the program at the School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad, bagged the opportunity to pursue a 6–8-week paid internship at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
Out of the 10 internships awarded throughout India, 3 students happen to be from the School of Medical Sciences, UoH which is a tremendous achievement and an immense motivation to the students and faculty alike. The MPH program of the school started in 2013.
Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is hosting the research internship program for MBBS and MPH students to facilitate research exposure and help develop future physician scientists in the country. Under this program, the selected students will get an opportunity to work under the supervision of a faculty at IISc, Bengaluru campus for a period of 1 to 2 months.
Students who have completed / will complete their 1st year MPH degree before May 2024 at a recognized institute in India were eligible to apply. The internship is for 4 weeks (minimum) to 8 weeks (maximum) to be pursued between the months of May to December 2024.
The Dean of the School and the Public Health Course Teaching faculty were profuse in their appreciation of the successful students. The Vice Chancellor, Prof B. J. Rao while congratulating the students, hinted at the competitive process through which the students were declared successful and was elated at this achievement.
