The civil services society conducted the first talk of the ‘Prelims series’ on the 13th of May (Saturday) in association with UGC HRDC, UoH at the Zakir Hussain auditorium. The guest speaker for the event was IAS Prateek Jain who was AIR 82, UPSC CSE 2016. He is presently serving as the additional collector of RangaReddy District.
The lecture was engaging, with a 30-minute presentation by the guest followed by a Q&A session. The talk provided the aspirants with “tikdams,” which translates to gimmicks. It included an overview of how to approach and answer preliminary questions through the methods of elimination and estimation. He used examples for the 2021 paper to elaborate on these techniques.
With prelims fast approaching, the session proved helpful to many civil service aspirants. We hope to see our guest speaker again before the UPSC Mains examination for a similar address.
Professor Prakash Babu, Director, Human Resource Development Cell was kind enough to make his graceful presence to the occasion and spoke on the programs initiated by the HRDC and wished to begin UPSC coaching classes going forward.
The guests, moreover, felicitated the winners of the debate competition that was held last month on the topic “triple talaq: a case of judicial activism or judicial overreach” and the best performing members of Nischaya for the months of March and April: Anwesha Sarma and Akash Dharna. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Avani Thate.
