Sri Gaurav Khare, National Coordinator, and Sri Ravi Pandey, Zonal Coordinator National Academic Depository (NAD), e-governance division, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India made a visit to the University of Hyderabad (UoH) on 30th May 2023 as they were in the city as part of their meetings with the educational institutions in Telangana, on awareness activities relating to the NAD and the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC).

They interacted with Prof. B J Rao, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Devesh Nigam, Registrar; Dr. Bipin Varghese, Deputy Registrar – Academic and Examinations and all team members who are associated with uploading the degrees in DigiLocker. As on date the UoH has uploaded 37057 degrees to the Digilocker NAD. This includes all Degrees awarded from 1977 till date.

Sri Ravi Pandey informed the authorities that they feel proud to mention about UoH in their meetings to other institutions as it is one of the very few institutions which has uploaded the degrees right from inception. Sri. Gaurav Khare said that as on date 56 billion documents have been uploaded in DigiLocker. They also informed that the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in his recent visit to Sydney made a mention about the importance and achievements of DigiLocker.

With regard to the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), Dr. Bipin Varghese informed that the university has already registered 3000 plus accounts and this is being updated at regular intervals to cover maximum number of students.

The NAD is a 24X7 online repository of all academic awards such as certificates, diplomas, degrees, mark sheets, etc. issued by Academic Institutions, such as universities, colleges, research institutes, training academies, and secondary education boards and stored in a digital format.
