An Indian Patent on “Process for preparation of multi-layer Graphene and nanocomposites thereof” (5166762024) has been granted to Dr. Ms. Swati Ghosh Acharyya, Dr. Gadde Ravi Kiran, Dr, Byram Chandu, Dr, Soma Venugopal, Dr, Tarak Nath De & Dr, Badiganti Veera Sekhar (SEST UoH, ACRHEM, ASL DRDO Hyderabad).

About the Patent:
A multi-layer graphene-based nanocomposite coating was fabricated to protect steel surfaces from high temperature (9000 C) exposure. This nanocomposite provides a highly resistant protective coating and high thermal stability for metallic substrates. The multi-layer graphene was synthesized using femtosecond laser ablation of graphite powder in water. These coatings have specific applications in the field of defence (canister protection)
