Dr. Kirtti Ranjan Paltasingh, an alumnus of the University of Hyderabad, has been awarded the ‘Prof. D. R. Gadgil Memorial Annual Prize 2016’ for the most outstanding article published in ‘Artha Vijnana’ journal by a single author below the age of 40 years for the article entitled “Role of Education in Technology Adoption: Evidence from Paddy Growers in Odisha” (Vol. LVIII, No. 1, March 2016, pp. 1-18). The award carries a cash amount of INR 10,000 and a citation. The journal ‘Artha Vijnana’ is published by the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE), Pune. Every year, the best article is selected for the award among the articles published in Artha Vijnana. This would be presented in the next convocation of GIPE.

Dr. Kirtti Ranjan Paltasingh, currently working as a regular Assistant Professor of Economics at SMVD University, Jammu, obtained his PhD degree in Economics from University of Hyderabad in 2014 under the guidance of Prof. Phanindra Goyari of School of Economics. Dr. Paltasingh’s research interests are broadly in Agricultural Economics and Development Economics. At SMVD University, he has been teaching various courses of Economics to master degree students. He has published articles in journals like The Journal of Developing Areas, Agricultural Economics Research Review, Agricultural Economics Review, Agricultural and Food Economics (forthcoming), Artha Vijnana, Asian Journal of Agriculture and Development, Indian Journal of Agricultural Marketing, Journal of Economic Policy and Research etc.
