Prof. R. Chandrasekar, senior faculty in the School of Chemistry at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been invited by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), London, to become a Fellow of the Society under the ‘Leaders in the Field’ scheme.

‘Leaders in the Field’ is a scheme where the Royal Society of Chemistry identifies outstanding individuals in the chemical science community to be invited to become Fellows. Prof. Chandrasekar receives this honour for his contributions to the field of Optical Energy Management in Functional Molecular Nano/Micro-Scale Photonic Solids.

The RSC is a 175 year old professional body that works for academic and research excellence in chemical sciences and their applications. The election as fellow of the RSC, considered as a distinct academic honour, follows a rigorous peer recommendation process and is based on several criteria emphasizing that the nominee occupied a position of authority in his/her area of research with a high level of autonomy in work and communication and that he/she directed and supervised the research of professional scientists.
